The Young Beethoven – April 1, 2022

White Rock Concerts celebrates Beethoven’s 250th anniversary with a stellar performance of the famous Septet. That’s the work about which Beethoven wrote: “I wish they would burn the piece…nobody is listening to anything else I have written!” An all-star Vancouver ensemble headed by violinist Nancy DiNovo and clarinetist José Franch-Ballester will also present some rarely heard works: Beethoven’s Wind Quintet in E flat major, WoO 208 as well as the Sextet in E flat major, Op. 81b. Our Artistic Director Emeritus, George Zukerman will introduce the programme with a spoken blog.
